Thirsty Tribe Survivors
From FWpedia
Several Tribe Survivors are still wallowing about the Desert Tribe Ruins, and while most tribe members have migrated away from the town because the well dried up, Nusion and some of his followers remain despite the constant thread of sandstorms, robbers and Centaurs.
The Immaculate Oasis isn't far from the village, though, so the survivors' fear has clearly not yet outweighed their desperation.
This quest is yet another way of obtaining Soul Coins in Sea of Oblivion. The quest giver for the task is Clan Elder Nusion (23 41, -1 -54) and, like all of these Sea of Oblivion dailies, it can be done 10 times a day.
Elder Nusion and the Tribe Survivors can be found in Desert Tribe Ruins, northeast from Towerpush Town, west from Oblivion City Trackstone (check Sea of Oblivion map for refference).
Level requirement: 30+
Walkthrough
To complete one task from Nusion you have to save three of his thirsty clansmen, thus completing the sub-quest three times.
After picking up the quest from the Elder - each of the Thirsty Survivors around him will have the subquest of his own for you (all the tasks are the same). Within 3 minutes (travel on mount takes about 30 seconds) you need to reach closeby Immaculate Oasis, fill Damaged Water Skin you'll receive with water from the pond - and bring it back to the Survivor you took quest from.
Hint #1: Being thirsty and all - the Survivors slowly die out. When picking up the quest check the health bar of the NPC you're talking to - it might spare you the disappointment of finding him dead after you come back with the water. Pick an NPC with above 50% of health to make sure you'll make it before he dies. If there's none currently around - wait for the respawn. It's essential especially if you don't have a mount.
Hint #2: Now, notice that bringing the Water Bag will heal one of the survivors, quite suprisingly not the one you'll hand the bag to. It will most likely be one next to him. Pick two of the NPCs that get healed by one another - and get quest from those two only, in turns. This way you'll be able to keep them both alive, so you won't be left alone in the village in need of Survivors' respawn (this might be a bit harder to do without a mount.)
The sub-quest may fail in three cases:
- You didn't make it under 3 minutes, whole water leaked out and thus sub quest failed.
- Your Water Bag is blown away by wind... (Task Failed) on your way back to the village or in the village, as well. This random occurance can become quite annoying in time, especially if it happens repeatably in short amount of time.
- You picked up the quest from Survivor with health too low to make it untill your come back from Oasis. In this case there won't be NPC to retun quest to anymore - and you'll be either forced to trash it, or just wait for the time out.
As they say, beggars can't be choosers though - and after failing you won't have to wait long untill the Survivors ask for your help again (3-5 seconds).
Reward
Being a bit more challenging then previous two tasks Thirsty Tribe Survivors' also has a better reward.
It's handled after each 3 sub-quest runs, when we can report to Nusion that three of his clansmen were saved. Experience reward is 5670 Exp, and Soul Coins amount equals 46 Silver 30 Copper Soul Coins. While not being as solid source of income as Special Quests and Main Questline, it's a nice support totaling in 4 Gold and 60 Silver Soul Coins for the full daily course of 10.
Additional rewards for finishing this can be Mastery and Resistance training items, Crescent Pond Footprint Card and very rarely a Mercury Coupon.
