Guardian of the Well

Stand guard at the Well of Life to protect it from the Desert Victims. If you choose to leave or allow the Desert Victims to approach the well, you will lose Alan Moore's trust and fail the objective.
Last of this type of tasks in Sea of Oblivion. It can be picked up from Alan Moore in Well of Life (20 43, -11 0) area (check with the map at Sea of Oblivion, it's halfway between Pyrowrath Village to Rubble Camp Trackstones). Task can be repeated 10 times a day.

Walkthrough
Guarding the Well consists of two tasks, and only finishing both will complete the quest. The tasks are to make sure that players don't "sponge" of other people doing the quest at the same time.
- Guarding Feat
- Requires to kill 10 Desert Victims to complete.
- Guarding Period
- Measures time. You have to hold up, guarding the Well till counter hits 15/15 (it's around 5-10 seconds for each tick).
Important: The Well Grounds
It is very important to know the boundraries you need to keep. It's easy up front - safe way to do this is not getting close to the wall and gate. The quest can fail if you do as much, as touch it. Back is harder to avoid - touching most of the building on the right is fine, only on the part with last door can fail the quest. You can also climb a to the sand on the left, but don't go too deep there - it's also beyond the Well area.
You can fail the quest in two cases:
- some Desert Victim will reach the Well before the timer ends (usually, even alone, you will finish killing 10 monsters before the timer);
- you will leave the Well grounds (it's a tricky one);
The Desert Victims will spawn and crawl to the Well from 4 directions:
- front, through the gate
- the cliff on the right side of the gate
- the building at the back of the well
- sand hill at the back of the well (close to the building)
Two people can easily protect the well one stading up front, the other one guarding the back of the area.
Hint #1: DON'T TRY SPONGING OF OTHER PEOPLE DOING THIS QUEST. This is crucial, because the more people will pick up the quest, the more Desert Victims will spawn - if you will idle around trying to use others, you will most likely fail the quest for everyone, including yourself.
Hint #2: The Victims are fairly slow and weak. Don't rush towards them too early, stay in Well grounds and don't pull your luck at the edges of it.
Hint #3: Use your pet. You may not leave the Well grounds - but your pet can, and might prove a great help, especially to the melee classes.
Reward
Reward is given automaticly after both of the tasks are finished (this usually happens when counter reaches 15/15, as Guarding Feat can be finised faster). Experience reward for each run is 5670, and money reward equals 46 Silver 30 Copper Soul Coins per run.
You also have a chance for Mastery and Resistance training items, Well of Life Footprint Card and very rarely a Mercury Coupon.
